Getting Started
How do I schedule a free 15-minute consultation?
You can book your free consultation directly through our online portal, our contact form or by giving us a call during office hours. We’ll match you with a therapist who fits your needs and preferences. You can choose a phone call or virtual (video) format, whichever feels more comfortable.
What is the purpose of the consultation?
This 15-minute consultation gives you a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for in therapy, and see if we’re a good fit. It’s also a chance for us to understand your needs and help you connect with a therapist who can support you. There’s no pressure or obligation, just a chance to get to know us.
What happens after the consultation if I decide to move forward?
If it’s a good fit, your therapist will help schedule your first full session. We’ll also verify your insurance benefits ahead of time so you’ll know exactly what your plan covers and what your out-of-pocket costs may be (if any).
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we are in-network with several major insurance providers. We’ll verify your benefits before your first session and provide you with an estimate of coverage. If we are not in-network with your plan, we’ll let you know and can discuss out-of-pocket options or provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.
Do you offer private pay rates?
Yes, we offer private pay rates for clients who choose not to use insurance or whose plans we don’t accept. Our team can walk you through these rates and answer any questions you may have. Some of our therapists provide a sliding scale as well.
What should I expect in the first session?
Your first session is focused on getting to know you. Your therapist will ask questions about what brought you in, your history, and your goals for therapy. There’s no need to prepare anything in advance, just show up as you are.
What kinds of therapy do you offer?
Our licensed therapists specialize in a variety of evidence-based approaches, including:
⟡ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
⟡ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
⟡ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
⟡ Internal Family Systems (IFS)

⟡ Trauma-focused care and more

How long are therapy sessions?
Most sessions are approximately 55 minutes and are typically held weekly. We can adjust the frequency based on your goals and what feels most helpful.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
We currently offer virtual sessions for convenience, flexibility, and accessibility. If you prefer an in-person option, let us know and we’ll explore availability based on your location and therapist preferences.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is extremely important to us. All sessions are confidential and comply with HIPAA regulations. We will only share information with your permission or as required by law (such as in cases of safety concerns).
How do I prepare for therapy?
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. Therapy is a space for you to be yourself. Some clients like to reflect on what they want to work on, while others prefer to talk through what’s coming up for them in the moment. There’s no right or wrong way to begin.
I’m nervous about starting therapy. Is that normal?
Absolutely. Many people feel a mix of nervousness and hope when starting therapy. It’s completely normal. Our therapists are warm and supportive, and we’ll meet you where you are, helping you feel safe and at ease every step of the way.
How do I contact you if I have more questions?
You can reach us by phone, email, or through our website’s contact form. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have, big or small.
We’re so glad you’re considering therapy. You don’t have to go through this alone, and we would be honored to support you.
