Types of Trauma Therapy We Offer

Individual Therapy – One-on-one sessions for processing trauma, building coping skills, and restoring personal power.

EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – Reduces the emotional charge of traumatic memories, ideal for PTSD, anxiety, and grief.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy – Helps you understand and compassionately work with different “parts” of yourself, including those shaped by trauma, to promote healing, self-understanding, and a greater sense of internal balance.

Somatic Therapy – Uses the connection between the mind and body to help you notice and work through how trauma is held in the nervous system, supporting greater safety, regulation, and healing.

Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) – Helps identify unhelpful thought patterns, process emotions, and improve day-to-day functioning.

Meet Our North Carolina Trauma Therapists

At Women’s Counseling NC, our therapists are highly trained in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma. We understand that trauma can affect every part of your life—from your emotions and relationships to the way you experience and respond to stress in your body.

Our therapists draw from a range of evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based techniques. This allows us to tailor therapy to your unique experiences, needs, and goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Whether trauma is showing up as anxiety, difficult memories, relationship patterns, feeling disconnected from yourself, or a nervous system that always seems to be on high alert, therapy can help. Our goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space to process painful experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and hope.
